Now if I can only figure out how to steer her on the ground... - vic365 - 04-02-2009 Ian, I'm not sure what your AN-2 addon is like. Are you FSX or FS9? I use FS9 and can make 2 suggestions for you. 1. Set the addon for "differential braking" in the aircraft.cfg: [brakes] toe_brakes_scale=0.55 parking_brake=1 differential_braking_scale = 1.0 When you turn the rudder AND apply brakes, the main gear on the side you are turning the rudder to will brake more than the opposite side. This will cause the aircraft to turn. Keep the power up to keep from coming to a stop but don't get too "enthusiastic" on the brakes or the tail dragger will "whip" on you. I usually just "tap" the brakes. You could also try changing the "1.0" to try and adjust the sensitivity to your liking and aircraft. You should see a red "differential braking" message on the lower left of the screen (unless you have the "brakes" message modded so it doesn't show). Or 2. Set the tailwheel as "steerable": Also in the FS9 aircraft.cfg, [contact_points] //GEAR point.0=1.0, -37.0, 0.0, -1.30, 1575.0, 0.0, 0.75, 60.0, 0.22, 2.5, 0.7, 33.0, 33.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 point.1=1.0, -1.80, -8.62, -7.60, 1575.0, 1.0, 1.30, 0.0, 0.26, 2.5, 0.6, 7.00, 7.0, 2.0, 0.0, 0.0 point.2=1.0, -1.80, 8.62, -7.60, 1575.0, 2.0, 1.30, 0.0, 0.26, 2.5, 0.6, 4.00, 4.0, 3.0, 0.0, 0.0 The 8th number in the "point.0=" line is a tail dragger's tailwheel in FS9. "180" here means it's freewheeling. By changing it to "60", in my example, the tailwheel is steerable with the rudder control, for a total travel of 60 degrees (30 degrees left to 30 degrees right). An entry of "90 would result in a steerable tailwheel with 45 degrees travel in either direction. Not necessarily "as real as it gets" but...what are you gonna do? :roll: Vic |
