Busy Italian Airspace - as136roy - 12-18-2009 Hi Guys, I was spotting some AI a/c near LIRF (Italy) and I notice that the ATC traffic was massive... Open the pics in a separate window/tab and click "full size" on the bottom part of the screen for more clarity. Pic-1: I spotted them first at FL280 less than 1nm apart. ![]() Pic-2: At FL210 I noticed that they started to form a line preparing for initial approach. ![]() Pic-3: Same formation as seen from above with a/c flying from FL190 to FL200. ![]() Pic-4: Seen at 10,000ft, 2 a/c very close... ![]() Pic-5: Now about 5 a/c seen forming a straight line. All towards the same airport (LIRF). ![]() Pic-6 & Pic-7: About 6 a/c on final to the SAME runway. ![]() ![]() Pic-8: Five a/c going-around. One just about to leave the runway. ![]() Pic-9: This a/c climbing back for another approach. The one just behind it handed sucessfully. Three other a/c can be seen on short final... Luckily there were all AI a/c and at that point it would also be late for a sidestep, no other choice than to perform a g/a then land at the other rwy. :wink: |
