Something VERY bad happened tonight! - AS 2 Tom Little - 11-19-2010
I am VERY sorry to say that I was in process of downloading the databases (ironically to make backups as I always do) and somehow I LOST the flight database as it overwrote the correct/new one.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Thankfully, the database was last backed up 3 days agom Monday 15 Nov 2010. However everything done between then and now (18 Nov 2010 23:50 GMT) has been LOST!
I'm not too sure how it happened but I do know it was during FTP.
I apologize for this occurance, and please post replies if there's anything I can do to help relieve the pain some of our daily fliers will indeed be feeling from this unfortunate occurance.
The main area affected is our flights, flight data, hours, vmoney. Areas NOT affected are asha ribbons, etc. Mainly anything to do with our logbook/profiles.

If you feel that you really need or want your flights back, please do not hesitate to post a reply with all the data and I will attempt to write a script that will re-enter the data for you. The only issues are that the flights may be out of order from the recent ones you fly after this database failure.

AAS or myAAS
If you filed flights that were NOT aas/myAAS, simply re-enter your flight(s) again by manual PIREP.

I was just looking at my logbook and noticed about 14hrs missing, then I saw this post, I have really packed in a few flights the last few days
, I'm not really worried about the hours but Im in the air right now are things good to go? Hey everyone is allowed a mistake once in awhile, I know thats my saying at work, I use it a lot :lol:

Yes, all is okay now. Flight data saves will resume as normal.
I am also going to work on a failsafe system which will back up PIREPs to a secondary database at the very moment we PIREP flights...I am planning on how to do it now. I should have known my luck would run out sooner or later. Even though I back up I still wondered if something like this would occur. Guess I answered my own question :x

SLIGHTLY good news this morning...
For those who use myAAS I realized today that the data IS backed up in an sql database! So for those who used myAAS I believe I can restore the data lost!!! I didn't even think of this yesterday because I was so flustered over the whole event - but I'll need some time to sort things out.
For example, Roger does this flight data look familiar?

Aircraft used was a Tupelov 114
