CONTRAIL FIX - AS37 Norm Edwards - 01-12-2012 Hi all. I have a contrail problem, something i've not experienced before  If you have a look at the pic below you'll see the contrails you'd normally expect but out to the rear also is a another set of contrails that split away from the main contrail and head for earth. If anyone knows a fix for this or where an alternative contrail file can be found, please drop a note in here... i've searched around but not found anything.. thanks. Note that although it looks like the split is coming from the wing, its not (just the angle of the pic i took). ![]() Re: CONTRAIL FIX - Leemazz - 01-12-2012 Wow Norm that is strange not seen that before , does it happen with ever aircraft or is it just that model Re: CONTRAIL FIX - AS37 Norm Edwards - 01-12-2012 Yep it's weird, happens with all aircraft once contrails start above FL300. I suspect it is therefore an FS system file. Re: CONTRAIL FIX - Leemazz - 01-13-2012 Sounds like it Norm maybe a quick repair would sort it out Re: CONTRAIL FIX - AS 2 Tom Little - 01-13-2012 Norm before doing a quick repair (never likes that thing!) - Seems it may be a corrupted fx_contrail file? They are located in your FSX/effects folder and are named: fx_contrail_l.fx and fx_contrail_s.fx Re: CONTRAIL FIX - JSkorna - 01-13-2012 Hi, You have installed something that has it's own contrails and now you have 2 sets and this is the result. Re: CONTRAIL FIX - AS37 Norm Edwards - 01-15-2012 Problem solved. The culprit was the fx_contrail_l.fx file . I found one on flightsim.com and just replace the existing one & presto! Kinda weird tho but now things are chugging along as they should be! |
