FSX fatal error - hooger4785 - 01-29-2012

Anyone have any ideas about fixing the ongoing FSX fatal error which crashes the thing while running on Windows 7? I've tried every fix I can find, various permutations thereof, and nothing is working! I'm starting to think FSX is more trouble than it's worth, and I just started using it!! Any ideas to correct it will be much appreciated! Thanks!

I use both Windows 7 And MSFX. No problems that can't be handled. What is the specific problem you are having? By the way, are you using MSFX SP2 ?

Hal can you post the Event Error via the control panel / Administative tools .

If we can see what app is causing the crash we should be able to help you out , i had lots of problems with FSX on windows 7 but eventually got it running well

Are you getting the error when starting/loading up or during flight???
More details would help.

Re: FSX fatal error - hooger4785 - 01-31-2012

It happens during flight. Everything is going along fine, then it'll freeze up, then an error message will pop up which speaks only of a fatal error. When Windows tries to diagnose the problem, it says "smartassembly" is required to run the diagnostic.

Re: FSX fatal error - JSkorna - 02-01-2012

Its your uiautomationcore.dll file. Replace it with one from the Internet and you'll be good. Google this for more info.

Re: FSX fatal error - Leemazz - 02-01-2012

It rears its head again make you place the uiautomationcore in the fsx root folder . Like jim says download one from the net

Re: FSX fatal error - hooger4785 - 02-01-2012

Hmm...downloaded a new uiautomationcore.dll file, placed it in FSX root folder, running FSX SP2. Same problem. (Although it took longer to rear its ugly green head this time!)

Re: FSX fatal error - Leemazz - 02-02-2012

Try reinstalling both serive packs 1 and 2 if you still get the crash post the error . The reason i say reinstall is coz the version does not look right but im away and doing this from my phone so not totally sure . No harm in reinstalling them though
