Two In-flight crashes - AS380 Mark Richards - 06-01-2012 Joe I'm currently doing a bid flight from KBFI-YBBN and using MyAAS2 just to test it over a longer distance and time and refuelling stops given it's a 3-leg flight. About 4 hours into the first 6 hour sector, MyAAS2 crashed: ![]() ![]() I was able to restart it fine and it continued to display on the AAS Map. I had a repeat of the crash just as I taxiied clear of the runway in Lihue. I didn't bother restarting as I was stopping for a refuelling stop anyway. I've posted my MyAAS2.db file in my Dropbox Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS 2 Tom Little - 06-01-2012 Mark, I noticed this morning that the website was down - I am not sure how long it was down for but I wonder if Joe has put in any error checking yet in case if the website is down? Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS201 Joe - 06-01-2012 Thanks for the attempt Mark (actually was going to let one run overnight tomorrow night myself, just to test). I was hoping, but I guess not. I'll have a look at things and see where the problem lies (hopefully). Sorry these things keep happening to you. On a plus note...you keep proving that the flight backup is working. By the way, what FS version do you use and what aircraft were you using? also... active-sky (or similar)? @Tom - yeah, I check for a valid connection first before I send anything. Might just wrap it in a try/catch block and do nothing on error just in case (live feed). I think it might be a memory management issue. Gonna scan through the flight code tonight/tomorrow night and see what I can find. Joe Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS 2 Tom Little - 06-02-2012 A HUGE thank you Joe - and of course Mark for testing. Wish I had more time but things are tight right now. I barely have time to do regular site maintenance. I know Joe is considering opening up testing to a wider audience, but probably not until this [slight] issue is resolved. Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS380 Mark Richards - 06-02-2012 HI all Joe, no issues it happening to me because at the end of the day, testing is all about finding these things before general release, especially when we have a membership who have in the past taken these things quite personally and made demands that makes me wonder why anyone would spend time programming, especially without compensation. I was flying in FSX with the PMDG NXG 800, up to date service packs, AS2012 latest release. Also running on my FS PC was FS FlightKeeper, FSRealTime and TOPCAT. I have FSUIPC 4.8 and was connected to FSInn on my laptop via WideFS for flying on VATSIM. Windows 7 64 bit. Tom, the website was up for all but about 10 minutes of my flight. I had a browser tab open with the AAS Map for my flight with an auto-reload running every 5 minutes and only once did I see it not load. I'm very lucky that yesterday was the first day of my leave from work and I'm not due back until 02JUL, so except for a week in NZ visiting my mother, I have plans to do a fair bit of flying so happy to do testing. If I lose a flight here and there, it's all cool because at the end of the day, I've had a ton of fun flying it! What sort of wider audience are we thinking? Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS201 Joe - 06-02-2012 Gotta love vacations. Hopefully I can get this figured out quick. Probably just looking at maybe 5 people. Just to get some more test flights going. Just over 2 hours into a flight (no plan just flying straight, default 747 no addons). No issues yet. Hopefully when I get up for work myAAS2 is crashed (fingers crossed). Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS380 Mark Richards - 06-02-2012 Same thing again on the last two sectors. I clicked on End Flight and File PIREP. Got the 81 Flight Points message. Flight didn't record in my logbook and yet when I reload MyAAS2 there are no flights available in my plan book, yet it's still booked out to me, only with other flights I have completed. The flight recorded the correct time of 17.1 hours: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] I went to the temporary PIREP page and there's nothing there to load: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] New database file uploaded to my Dropbox. Mark Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS201 Joe - 06-02-2012 Looking at your database shows you have 3 flights waiting to be uploaded to the server. File->Upload Flights Quote:Same thing again on the last two sectors. Crashing again? Joe Re: Two In-flight crashes - AS201 Joe - 06-03-2012 Hey Mark- New version posted (06-02). *Hopefully* will fix the crashing issue. Joe. |
