Which DC3 (FSX) - DanielW - 11-01-2012 Which DC3 are you guys using for Jean Battens footsteps? I only have the Basler at the moment, I surprise I could use it but flying this with a turboprop is not going to be the same.. Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - zfly2sky - 11-01-2012 I'm using the default DC3 that's tweeked with a modern Auto Pilot in FS9 to keep me from adjusting the controls all the time. Mark Ricards, that authored this event said in the announcement to,..."fly a Douglas DC-3 or some similar vintage aircraft." I tried to find the actual aircraft she flew (Percival Gull) but couldn't find it anywhere on line. Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - AS380 Mark Richards - 11-01-2012 I too tried to find a Percival Gull, without success. I'm flying this one: http://www.pcaviator.com.au/store/DC-3- ... JFDC3.html Mark Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - DanielW - 11-01-2012 Looks like a good discount too. My in-laws are coming for a month so I'm not sure how much manual flying time I'll get in. I'll probably try to fly it in Dec Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - DanielW - 11-02-2012 AS380 Mark Richards Wrote:I too tried to find a Percival Gull, without success. I got it, I like it actually it's pretty good. The manual's not very detailed though, should I be worried if cylinder head temp is at 150? My cowl flaps are open, but I think it was that hot from wrong mixture. It has gone back down now. Also how are you managing the mixture with no EGT or fuel flow gauges? Do you cruise in auto-lean and climb in auto-rich? And how do you select the right Aux fuel tank? I can cycle through all fuel tanks except right aux for some reason. Is there any transfer or crossfeed in a DC-3? I'm using the Sperry Gyro right now, it works really well! It's probably easier to use than the real thing but it's good to have. thanks Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - Neil B - 11-02-2012 I'm using the MAAM-Sim offering, tweaked to run in FSX, with a modern avionics package. Flys by the numbers and still looks quite nice given its age. Seen here arriving in Amman, Jordan at the end of leg 4. ![]() Re: Which DC3 (FSX) - as176andre - 11-17-2012 Hi, MAAM Sim DC3 is quite nice I'm using it in FSX |
