Re: PIREPS - AS 2 Tom Little - 12-16-2012

I don't quite understand your question Steve? However running two myAAS at the same time is not permitted, unless you are using myAAS(v1) as a backup for myAAS(v2), where myAASv1 is only recording off line (per this topic --> viewtopic.php?f=51&t=5933#p27003)

Re: PIREPS - JSkorna - 12-16-2012

I think he means if a pilot belongs to 2 different VAs can they do a single flight and get credit from both VAs, especially if both use a different ACARs systems. I don't think he means getting double credit here at AS.

It's an interesting question that I have never seen asked before and I looked in our Handbook and there doesn't seem to be anything.

Re: PIREPS - AS 2 Tom Little - 12-17-2012

"Officially" it would take an EMT vote to add this to our employee handbook.

Our purpose should be quality not quantity. It's a hobby...

Steve,

How would you prove this? Would you impound someone's computer and send it to the FBI for data analysis? I think you are making a big to-do out of nothing.

Steve, who is John? I see Jim replying above but am I missing something - is a moderator removing posts from a "John"?

Re: PIREPS - AS37 Norm Edwards - 12-18-2012

After discussion I can put this issue to rest.

There is no restriction, nor has there ever been, for pilots to fly for more than one VA and record flying hours for any particular flight. There is no policy for this, and I see no need to introduce one on this issue. AirSource has enjoyed over a decade of freedom to choose how they fly within AirSource as long as the Employee Manual is complied with. Any other flying the pilot carries out with another VA is really none of our business. If they use MyAAS to pirep (or manually for that matter) a flight from AirSource and have complied with our regulations, that's just fine!

Thanks Steve for raising the issue which I consider to be now resolved.
