FSX Installation - AllanH - 07-06-2014
I am trying a fresh install of FSX on my new computer, onto the internal C drive. Previously it was on an external drive with my older computer and I think I did not remove it properly. I still use the external drive for add-ons. I am getting the message from Install Shield : 1628 Failed to complete installation.
Can anyone help ?
The OS is now Windows 8.1

Thanks for the link. Tried Microsoft earlier but nothing works, Mr Fixit - not for this system. Tried to find a new download for Install Shield but unable to find one for Windows 8.1. If I install via another admin user, will I be able to add aircraft/scenery via my logon ?
Any ideas anyone.

If you go that route and it works make sure to install for all users if asked
