MyAAS stuck in cruise - Phillip Speer - 12-07-2014
Hi,
Just flown a bid flight from EDDF to LEZG. On descent I noticed that myAAS was stuck at cruise flght level. I had a couple of times where myAAS had disconnected due to FS hanging but had reconnected each time. I saved and restarted myAAS but again didn't seem to connect to the flight so when landed was still logging the cruise level, though the time seemed to be updating properly.

Not sure what's going on there, Phillip. Was the altitude the only thing that stopped recording/changing? Have a look at \modules\fsuipc.log and see if anything odd stands out (or even post it).
Maybe re-download myAAS2 (http://air-source.us/operations/myaas2/myaas2.zip). I have made some changes to the FSUIPC (re)connection code. Might help with the issue, if it happens again.

Hi Joe,
It appeared to be the only altitude that wasn't working during the flight, but didn't recognised landing, egine shutdown or give options to file.
I'm but sure if MyAAS uses FSUIPC or Simconnect but looking at the FSUIPC log, looks like SimConnect stopped working so presuming thats the issue at hand. I'm not an expert at the workings of FSX so may be a normal looking log, but seems to be a big hint to me. Will post the log in case gives you assistance for further work (the deleted entries are all the same).

Definitely looks like SimConnect kept failing. I guess FSUIPC runs through SimConnect in FSX (FSUIPC Menu entry constantly being added).
Odd though that FSUIPC kept returning success codes ("I saved and restarted myAAS but again didn't seem to connect to the flight so when landed was still logging the cruise level"). It shouldn't have been able to re-start the recording. Should have received Flight Simulator not connected.
I'll try to dig a little more but, I'm not sure what I would be ale to do to detect that happening again.

Yeah. Trying to figure out how I can detect something like that happening. Pretty difficult if FSUIPC is not returning errors.
