P3D and Windows 10 - AS541-Brian - 08-05-2015 Good afternoon fellow Airsourcers, I am curious to know if anyone was brave enough to install Windows 10 yet. And if so, has there been any compatibility issues with P3D or FSX, especially with addons? I am tempted to do the upgrade, but I am nervous to actually install it. Thanks for the insight. Re: P3D and Windows 10 - JSkorna - 08-06-2015 I've successfully updated with FSX to Win 10. Re: P3D and Windows 10 - AS541-Brian - 08-06-2015 Great. Thanks Jim. I am in the process of updating, if I can get past all the error messages...life is good. ![]() Re: P3D and Windows 10 - AS201 Joe - 08-09-2015 Hi Jim, Out of curiosity, what version of Windows did you upgrade from? Been looking at doing it myself but everything I have found says Win7 users should wait a bit. If you had Win7, do you think it was worth the upgrade or do you agree to wait a bit? Thanks Re: P3D and Windows 10 - JSkorna - 08-11-2015 Hi, I had Win 7 Pro and I think it was worth it. Have not had any troubles with anything. Re: P3D and Windows 10 - Alan Black AS122 - 08-11-2015 I just came up with my first grumble....automatic updates. I'm a "Fly and Pause" kind of guy. I rarely get a chance to sit down and fly an entire flight, so I typically take off, get to cruise, pause the flight, unpause when I get a chance to get back, pause again etc, etc, etc until I get to my destination. So today... I'm on descent into URRR about 50nm out when I need to pause to take my dog to a vet appointment. I typically work nights, so due to getting woken up early this morning, decided to take a nap when we got back from the vet. Wake up, come sit at the PC to see if I can land, and now I'm staring at my PCs login screen with everything all nicely updated and rebooted. Granted with Autosave etc. I can just set things up again and finish it off, but part of my night at work tonight will be looking for the function that gives me a little more control. I know part of what MS wanted to achieve with 10 was to take away control of updates, but there had better be a way around it or this is going to be a pain. I do have to admit though that the upgrade went fine on both my machines and I like everything else about it so far. Re: P3D and Windows 10 - AS201 Joe - 08-12-2015 Thanks, jim. Alan - Maybe try this page http://www.askvg.com/fixing-windows-10-automatic-updates-install-problem/. Looks like number 3 in the first method is what you need. |
