X Plane 11 disappointment - Alan Turville - 07-09-2018 I bought X Plane 11 a couple of months ago, and also bought a brand new computer to play it. The computer specs are Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K, up to 4.7+GHz Memory: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Storage: 1TB SSD / 4TB Seagate BarraCuda HDD Operating System: Windows 10 Home The computer should be able to run all flight sims with the sliders turned right up according to Matt Davies the You Tube blogger . All was ok to start off with and so i bought the awesome Flightfactor A320 to fly on it. I was getting 40fps + to start off with, but lately it has dropped to 8fps on alot of flights making it near enough unflyable. It makes no differance if i turn the sliders down to improve fps or have the sliders up. the fps stays the same. X Plane itself is a good sim but i need to suss out whats wrong. When i buy a sim and a brand new comp to fly it, i dont expect to have endless probs with it and have to try out tips from other simmers to try and solve my problem. I just want to plug it in and play the damn thing. Re: X Plane 11 disappointment - AS 2 Tom Little - 07-10-2018 Hi Alan, I too have recently picked up x-plane at the steam summer sale and have been "experimenting" and comparing to FSX. I gotta say it's quite an arm wrestle between the two! Wish I knew more about it to give any pointers, did you add any plugins in or scenery, etc? Re: X Plane 11 disappointment - Alan Turville - 07-11-2018 Hi Tom. Only the Flightfactor A320. Ive always been a Microsoft Flight Simmer since diddly squat, so this is something I'm a complete novice too. But the graphics are amazing and as Microsoft is no more I took the plunge into X Plane as I see this as the future. FSX and FS9 seemed so easy compared to this baby lol. The ATC is absolute pants but I guess they will sort it out eventually. Re: X Plane 11 disappointment - murphw_A350 - 07-16-2018 Intrigued by this - I have a pretty ropey computer by your standards (3.2GHz Xeon processor, 12gb RAM, 4gb 1050Ti) and haven't got 8FPS with the FFA320 apart from engine start (due to some daft DRM check.) Never going to be 50FPS, but even with some graphic-heavy freeware scenery I can still fly reasonably well other than at the "default" airports that are by Aerosoft i.e. Heathrow, Frankfurt. The one thing I've found with X-Plane is download-and-go-fly it is not! I spend more time tweaking the sim than flying it! Re: X Plane 11 disappointment - Alan Turville - 07-24-2018 As I get used to Xplane and FF320 I find 8FPS is now a rare occurance. I normally get 30-40FPS now which makes it more enjoyable. Still find the odd bugs in this Sim like trees all over the apron at Paphos, and a big grey square in the atlantic en route to Tenerife (380miles to Konba heading 210 ). I'm now an Xplane convert though. Re: X Plane 11 disappointment - Kelly Long - 09-29-2019 Any FSP setting over 30 is a waste of PC resources. Set Max to 25-30 |
