BAE 146 Tour! - AS 2 Tom Little - 11-01-2020
Paul Sargent has established a wonderful tour for our members to enjoy!
Back on 24th October 1982 a BAe 146 G-SCHH set off on a huge tour to promote the aircraft.
The tour visited 20 countries and consisted of 131 flights, carried over 3,300 passengers, the aircraft was shown to 31 different airlines, 7 weeks in total travelling 60,000 miles the aircraft arrived at Hatfield on 13th December 1982. Interesting facts of the route included the first ever jet landing at Kulu on the India/Pakistan border, as well as first 4 engine jet operations into the 1200m strip at Nanki Shirahama in Japan.
There are 71 legs to this routing, ideally the aircraft needs to be the BAe146-100 aircraft, but we appreciate that not all members will have this exact aircraft, any BAe146 variant (-100, -200, etc) are allowed to be used.
For those members that do not own a payware BAe146 i.e Qualitywings or Just Flights model, there are some excellent freeware aircraft out there: https://simviation.com/hjg/downloads.htm where this exact aircraft can be downloaded.

NOTES:
Flights will need to be completed in order this way the routing can be enjoyed as it was flown. The crew pass page starts sorting with the last leg and goes back to leg 1 as the last page. Each leg only has one crew pass, please assure to return the crew pass once you complete the leg. This tour has a long term duration, it is running through Feb 28, 2021. Hi,
This is a great idea, but looking at the legs page they all seem to be 'backwards about'. IE Leg one departs Gatwick for Hatfield, instead of the other way round. Leg 2 departs Fiumicino for Gatwick and so forth and so on.
Looking at them, every crew pass seems to have the arrival and departure airports reversed

I hope you enjoy flying this tour, little different in terms of the aircraft flown, to what members normally fly but it is a unique aircraft with great STOL capabilities, some of the airports on this route will need those capabilities.

Just did a bit of googling for fun and G-SCHH was #5 off the assembly line, eventually ending up in the Philippines with Zest Air (reg#RP-C2994). Now listed as "stored".

I hope the whole flight plan, great as it is, does not fail due to there being only one crew pass for each flight. The total pilot roster is over 500. The great thing about AirSource is you can fly whenever you have some time to do it. If you are continually finding the next leg is unavailable you will spend your flying time elsewhere. I guess nobody enjoys standing in a queue, especially in a potentially very long one??

Hi All,
Great Tour as usual. I must Admit I made an error when I booked a flight and work distracted me and then only getting to it 2 days later, Apologies for that.
Now I am stuck for 2 days unable to fly, and as I fly airport to airport in my log book it becomes a mission.
Can I suggest due to the single flights you only book the flight when you are going to fly it, instead of booking ahead and blocking everyone only to not fly for a few days yourself further creating a backlog for pilots waiting to fly that leg.
Please only book the flight if you plan to fly it now and return it when done, as we all live in different time zones and can finish a flight while you are sleeping. Instead of having to not fly.... There is no prize for finishing first.
