Forum Issues - AS 2 Tom Little - 04-24-2025 Hello AirSource members! I got some news today (I happened to log in to our server admin page and saw the announcement there!) that our server host is upgrading the PHP version (forcing *all* clients to update to version 8.3 PHP. What does this mean? It means we are likely going to lose these forums! I will have all the data, however the problem is transferring it over to the new forum software - I'm not sure that is "do-able". So worst case scenario is that we'll need to start a whole new forums software losing all the prior data and sign ups etc. So it is likely that these forums are going to be disabled after 1 May 2025. If that happens (and I think it will because the version of this forum is too old to run on 8.3), please bare with us as I try to get a new forum up and running. We may have to all re-register. I apologize for this inconvenience, and I'll try to get the new forums up and going as soon as I can! Re: Forum Issues - AS37 Norm Edwards - 04-25-2025 Hi Tom. That's annoying isn't it! So much info held within all the various posts and threads here. Might be a good idea for people (like me!) to have a look at their posts to save any information or responses to posts that they want to retain by doing screen prints. Remember this happened before Tom with the forums we were using waaaay way back! Hi Norm, Yes, it is very annoying to say the least. I suppose the good thing is there was a bit of a warning and at least the data will be there but yeah something similar went down many years ago great memory Norm! And then I coded a custom forum lol, but that was not very user friendly. It worked, but didn't have all the features we have here. Frankly, this forum is very outdated and some things haven't been working for a few years now. I suppose it is "time", but wish I could retain all our stuff. Re: Forum Issues - AS37 Norm Edwards - 04-26-2025 I'll do some saving of the sort of things we don't want to have to do all over again, eg, employee manual (i'm overdue to update that anyway! ![]() |
