I am still flying training flights for ASHA and I am now in South America practicing high altitude takeoff's and landings.

I reckon this has to rate as my most enjoyable flight yet for AS, you can see the details here

Here I am departing SASQ and climbing to 2ooooft.

Now entering cruise level

Cruising at 2ooooft @ 180kts

Having circled over Potosi @ 18oooft to get an idea of the layout of the highground, the weather suddenly clears enough for me to head down safely.

Now decsending towards SLPO, I have lowered the flaps and gear to help keep the speed down at this altitude.

Having flown a teardrop like maneuver I now turn back towards the airfield.

The high land behind me stopped me performing a full teardrop maneuver, but here you can see I still managed to safely turn back towards the final.

Slowly turning to line up on final.

All lined up and, watching my speed I headed in to land.

And here I am safely down.

As you can see, the combination of high ground and weather make for a spectacular destination - ASHA flying really is different to flying the commercial flights.
