EMERGENCY!!!! - bigrobmjca AS350 - 02-01-2009

HELP! I'm going missed approach at Miami, (flying in to start the WCT 09') in a Cessna Citation Soverign. I cannot stop this thing. I don't want to crash and loose this flight. Tried to land and pulled back up because I know there was no chance of stopping. Can't find the autobrakes and don't think I have reverse thrust. I think the normal brakes may be malfunctioning and I don't think this has reverse thrust. HELP!

Just a shot in the dark...Is the auto-throttle still engaged?

no

According to AAS, you seem to have one helluva lot of fuel left onboard:

13056 Lbs 64.0% Remaining

Maybe you're too heavy...

stopped. I was all over the airport. I was just trying to steer clear of everything and not hit another building or jet. Praise God I got it stopped somewhere in the grass.

Cut the engines might be a problem with the aircraft software set the autobrake to max arm the spoilers and watch it stop in about two white lines . restart the engines and give a cheeky wink to the tower on the way past .

Alright. I've noticed that. How do I determine how much fuel I need?

- Leemazz - 02-01-2009

Best thing to do is just set it to max till you get an idea of what you need try to make a note of it at the end of the flight what fuel is remaining .

I use FS Navigator, which figures out fuel consumption over the course of your flight plan.

I believe you are required to carry enough fuel to make it to your destination, then to your alternate, plus another forty-five minutes.

There have been some threads on the forums here about calculating fuel in more detail.
