Title: 10000+
Threaded Mode
#1
I think pilots which reach 10000 hours should get a medal or something along those lines or maybe becoming a Chief Pilot . Also one for the 15000 hours mark as there is no reward for getting so many hours , plus it adds more insentive to get there .

While you guys are discussing the topic, can I toss in a little more food for thought? In addition to hours, how about something for # of flights. or a combined award? Granted 10,000 hours is an amazing acheivement and should be noticed, but it is possible to get there alot quicker flying long-haul Intercontinental flights than it is flying something like the Southwest schedule where there is essentially nothing longer than 4-5 hours, and the majority would be under 2 hours. In the same way that aircraft age is measured in terms of hours/cycles, is there some way to build that in to ranks?

I know typically pilots experience is measured in hours, so this is the traditional ranking/award system, but I thought I would toss this out there since it sounds like there are discussions coming up on the topic.

Just my 2c...

Very true some pilots might never achieve 10000 hours due to flying short flights , maybe 1000 flights or is that too small maybe 5000 flights .

I noticed Jims and a few others flight hours and think its a major achievement to get so many hours with no reward like Alan says flights are generally over looked its more hours

Hi All,

For me, it really doesn't matter. If I fly Bids I am at the top of the scale. If I fly ASHA I am at the top of the scale. My AS195 has been retired. I have my 10 year medal, and the ASO Honor Medal. If I cashed in all my stocks I would have close to 8T dollars!

It would be cool to have some higher levels to shoot for as we did with a second tier of ASHA Ribbons.

I am sure the EMT will be discussing this soon, as Norm posted!

Thanks,
