Title: PSS757 and PSS777 on FS9
Threaded Mode
#1
Could use some help here.
My problem: after installing the 757 and 777 from PSS I have encounterd crashes while closeing FS9. The addons work fine, it's just when I go to close flightsim I get a crash with different causes.

My thinking: I know for PMDG products you need to install the 737 first followed by the 747 then the MD11. I have installed the PSS on top of these. Should I install the PSS product first then the PMDG's next. Some of the errors are gauge related. And I believe it is the WX radar gauge that is giving me the problem.

Finally, I'm running a 64bit OS. Could this be the prob?? PSS Not 64bit friendly??

I am going to do a fresh install of FS9 on my other drive with PSS first and see what happens.

Any thoughts???

Brett it could be the 64bit os . I have just changed to 64bit and a lot of stuff does not work with it . I have not used PSS stuff for a bit but i remember having problems with the fps and the VC .

I would have to throw behind the 64 bit OS also. Have no such problem with either addon with XP 32 bit.
The unofficial PSS forum is still alive at Avsim...maybe give them a shout?

Yep,it is a 64bit issue. think I found away around it. The planes fly perfect. All funtions work, loads ok, but the problem is when I try to save a flight and close FS with the red x I get the crash. So, after saving, I click exit through the menu on FS and it closes just fine. Don't know. With all the addons I have, these two are the only ones that give me any trouble, and Its not that bad really, just need to change my habit of closing FS.

Does this only happen when you guys are saving an incompleted flight or when you have landed at your final destination also, and not "saving"?

My FS crashes to the desktop on my 777 each time right before pushback.

Are you starting FS with the default flight? The PSS addons are one of the VERY few I have that require this. As a matter of fact MOST of my payware addons do NOT like it if I load the default flight first, PMDG in particular.

vic,
No. I usally load FS from my last flight. Old habbit. I have numerous saved flights, weather its a SWA flight or FDX or American. All my saved flights are named as such, ie: PMDG 737 SWA. My work around without getting a CTD was to save my flight as normal but end FS through the FS menu and all is good. PSS is the only reason I do this. It used to be I just saved my flight and closed FS by the X close button. Not no more.

Its got to be a 64bit issue with PSS. No big deal, just had to change the way I close FS. All loads good with PSS, and my framrates don't take a hit. I assuming PSS was built well before 64bit OS's. I just happy they work!! Know what I mean!!
