Hi Tom
I have been puzzled by the discrepancy which appears between the hours flown by me in the last 30 days and the average days flying hours in my logbook
Today for example my flying hours ( as indicated on the website) for the last 30 days is 291.9 which is an average of 9.73 each day.
However my logbook tells me that I have an average of 10.2 hours per day and as a result I cannot PIREP further flights ( at this time I have 3 ) .
10.2 hours is 306 hours.
How can this be?
Best regards
Roger

Hi Tom
Thanks for that.
I should have realized that the 30 day total was AAS flights only.
With the 3.6 hrs and 291.9 giving a total of 295.5 I should still be below the 10.0hrs per day.
However I think I might have had more than 3.6hrs non AAS which would then account for the excess of hours.
But I have just checked my flights and only 2 flts 3.6 hrs nonAAS have been recorded in this period.
At this moment I have a further 5 flts and 10hrs 5 minutes in MyAAS to PIREP.
Best regards
Roger

Hi Tom
I might have the reason for this discrepancy.
My total hours for 30 days are 295.5.
If we divide by 30 this gives 9.85.hrs per day.
However If we divide by 29 this gives us 10.189 hrs per day. The figure in the log book!
This suggests that the 30 day figure given in the logbook is actually the average figure for 29days.
What do you think?
Best regards

Hi Roger,
Just got home from work and yes your answer is somewhat correct, the reason is it depends on time of day but yes it goes to 29 days due to the server being in a location -6 hours GMT, therefore it would take it back 1 day in some cases. The system only rounds to DAYS not hours, so it really is going back 29 days
I hope this isn't too confusing!? It's very rare we have anyone fly enough to get to these levels especially for the length of time you've been a member! Keep up the great work although we somewhat limit that!

Hi Tom
Thanks for that.
I had noticed this phenomenon for a long time and thought it was time that I did something about it.
I now read as should many others that the logbook entry is the average for 29 days.
I will now restrict my flying to 9.666 hours per day.
Thanks for your explanation Tom.
In 30minutes here is Spain ( 0700) the hours are reset and I can send my Pireps and book more flights.
Best regards
Roger
