Title: The Anatomy of the Airbus A380 QF32 near disaster
Threaded Mode

Did you guys see this?

Astounding! Here is a more in depth analysis of the event:

>>

I love the quote about how this series of events was a One in a 100 Million chance of occurring, yet it occurred anyway -- and the aircraft has only been in commercial use for how long? A year -- two?

I have never been comfortable at all with flying my virtual Airbus aircraft because of the fact that Airbus has designed these planes to override the pilot if the computer detects incorrect human action. I understand the reasoning and the statistical justification, but to put a computer completely in charge like that just seems "scary wrong" to me.

PS: Has Qantas ever had a fatal accident? I read once, years ago, that they were the only major carrier that had not . . . but that was a long time ago.

Incredable!
I didn't realize the extent of the damage.
Everyone on board are lucky to be alive!

The last I heard, they have never had a fatal and that in itself is awesome.

Nice post Chuck... The great thing about the incident is that no lives were lost, the plane landed safely. I guess there is no "perfect" plane. Some faults and flaws can just be uncovered whenever such incidents happen.
