Threaded Mode
#1
Making a full Category III autoland onto runway 16R at a VERY foggy Sydney International to complete the Thunder Down Under tour. This pic was taken from near the PAPI lights (using Active Camera) right as I got the fifty-foot call. Now that's foggy!

That's been the East Coast of Australia this week! Here in Melbourne we had fog each morning this week and on Tuesday this was the ATIS:

MELBOURNE TERMINAL INFORMATION OSCAR

Approach: EXPECT ILS APPROACH

Surface Conditions: DAMP
Operational Info: HIAL.
LOW VIS OPS IN PROGRESS.
RWY 16 CENTRE LINE AND TOUCHDOWN ZONE LIGHTING
PILOT MONITORED

RVR: RWY 16, 420 M.
RWY 27, 500 M

Gotta love winter in Australia - as they say about Melbourne's weather, if you don't like it, wait 15 minutes!
