The team’s next leg of the journey is an Air France flight 1401 to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. However, this flight is operated by Air Source, which supplies the pilots for the journey. Complications arose when it was discovered that all three necessary flight passes for the pilots were not in order. One flight pass had already been redeemed by an Air Source pilot but had not been returned to the pool, and the other two passes had been obtained but not yet flown. This bureaucratic mix-up left the Ecuadorian athletes in transit, unable to proceed to their final destination.
