Flights Aviation enthusiasts were treated to a fascinating journey as the Cuban Olympic team made their way to Paris to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games. The team, consisting of 50 athletes and a support team of 20 members, embarked on their adventure with two notable flights. The first leg of their journey was on a COPA Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration HP-1842CMP.



This aircraft, fitted with advanced sharklets, is known for its enhanced fuel efficiency and improved aerodynamics. The sleek wingtip devices not only reduce fuel consumption but also contribute to a quieter and smoother flight. The Cuban team enjoyed a comfortable trip from Havana to Panama City aboard this state-of-the-art aircraft.



After a smooth transit in Panama City, the team transferred to an Air France Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registration F-HRBD, for the final leg to Paris.



The Dreamliner is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and passenger comfort. It features larger windows, improved cabin pressure, and higher humidity levels, which help reduce jet lag and increase overall comfort during long-haul flights. Additionally, the B787-8 is highly efficient, consuming 20% less fuel than older aircraft of similar size, making it an environmentally friendly choice. The journey was seamless, with both flights providing the athletes and their support team with the amenities needed to arrive in Paris well-rested and ready for competition.
