Can you post up your inspector settings?

Well, my Inspector seems to be broken right now. Can't change any settings Sad

Here's where mine differs (might help)

Antialiasing - Setting = 16x[16x CSAA (4 color + 12 cv samples)]
Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling = 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling

Anistropic Filtering Mode = Although I know it should be at User Defined/Off, mine is at Application controlled
Anistropic Filtering Setting = 16x

Also, in FSX:
Filtering = Anistropic
Anti-Aliasing = Unchecked

Hmm...FSX looks better than I remember (haven't flown it in a while), mainly went back to FS2004

Don't fly the PMDG but, haven't seen your issue on any of my aircraft (default, iFly, Level-D and various Feelthere/Wilco).

Remembering your settings, just in case, give mine a shot and see if they help.

I'm sure the lines are drawn the same wether we're talking ifly or pmdg.

Will try.
Thanks

Possibly, but PMDG has creative ways to work their magic inside and outside of the sim, so there's a slight chance they could alter something for performance...but with that said they would likely put that into a setting within the FMC or something.

Well, I tried your settings, Joe, and while other aspects of the sim look much better, the Legos are still there.

I guess, like you, some things I'll just have to learn to live with.

Thanks for the help.

(but, maybe, like Tom said, I'll ask the magicians. Just never explored the idea of it being a PMDG thing)

Maybe try converting file from DX3 to DX5???? Save a back up first - this is a drastic step!

That does sound like a major step.
One that I'm not sure how to take.

Could you walk me through that, or is it more complex than that?

Well, I've gotten it better, but still disappointed.

I love the vapor trail, but I can't understand why I can't get a look as good as FS9(below). Isn't FSX supposed to have better graphics?

FSX uses up many more resources than FS9. I use FS9 with 100% right sliders with no problem. FSX I must use 50% or less to get over 12fps. That's why I went back to FS9.
Your scenery looks great - try adjusting it down 5-10% and aircraft up 5-10% see if that helps
and watch your FPS #'s also make sure "Anti Alising" box is checked.
I still use Windows XP Pro also - if not broke, don't try to fix! Smile
