Typhoon Maria, while expected to weaken somewhat from its current intensity, is headed for a strike on Japan's southwesternmost islands, Taiwan and eastern China as a still-formidable typhoon Tuesday and Wednesday.
Maria remains a Category 4 equivalent system just over 200 hundred miles south-southeast of Okinawa after strengthening into a Category 5 Sunday morning U.S. time for the second time in its existence. The typhoon's first stint as a Category 5 was late last week when it had one of the fastest tropical-storm-to-Category-5 intensification rates on record.

An Air Force hurricane hunter aircraft dispatched into the center of the storm found that sustained winds are near 60 mph, and extend up to 70 miles from the center of the tropical system. Chris is expected to strengthen by Monday night, and become a hurricane by Tuesday, according to the NHC.
While the storm is expected to remain away from land, it's still kicking up the surf during the peak summer beach season along the East Coast.
"Swells generated by Chris are expected to increase and affect portions of the coasts of North Carolina and the mid-Atlantic states during the next few days," the NHC said. "These swells could cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions."

Humanitarian Aid: Food and water sent to effected areas
Thousands of homes were still without clean water and electricity in Hiroshima and other hard-hit areas. Residents lined up for water under the scorching sun as temperatures rose to 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit), raising risks of heat stroke.
In another hard-hit town, Ozu in Ehime prefecture, water supplies were entirely cut off and residents could not clean their mud-stained homes, or even their clothes. At a major supermarket in town, employees sold bottled water and tea, cups of noodles and other preserved foods that survived the floods, while employees cleaned damaged merchandise, throwing items into dozens of plastic bags.
The landslides and flooding across much of western Japan have killed at least 155 people, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference.
Some of the thousands of residents who had been evacuated, some rescued from their rooftops, began cleaning up after the rain stopped Monday.
Suga said the government set up a task force and was spending 2 billion yen ($18 million) to hasten deliveries of supplies and other support for evacuation centers and residents in the region.

Don, I presume you're the creator of the great new military contract routes! Thanks for your efforts and participation! I've had to upgrade many of the airports to accommodate AI aircraft; most of them have only the fuel box for parking. There is a great scenery for RODN but it lacks adequate parking for the KC135s, C130s, E3s, P-3 Orions, F15s, and Pave Hawks. The general layout is spacious with enough room for all of these aircraft. The designer only had a GA ramp with 6 RAMP_GA_MEDIUM parking places. The stock RJSM had a good layout with no parking to accommodate the 35th fighter wind and their F16s so I've added parking for both combat and Cargo aircraft. I've also had to "dress up" the stock airports for some your other routes, something I enjoy! Keep them coming!

I do not remember the parking areas much but I do remember being in the "Fuel Cell Hangar" for two days. Usually when my "Herky Bird" had a "Red X" for grounding, I stayed on the aircraft, but you cannot stay on an airplane in the "Fuel Cell". So, for two nights I slept on a "LAPS" (low altitude parachute extraction) platform and a cox. Under the stars in Okinawa in March was very cool temperatures but nice stars!
I have more flights to Europe coming.
