Hi are missing an OilRig in the North Sea.

Im making a bid flight from EKEB to DON and need the OilRig Added.

Hi Erik,

I was unaware these oil rigs where in the Flight Simulator program. So I fired up my FSX and flew out to the one near EHRD in the ATI Goose. Amazing detail with the gas flame burning and the boom cranes moving.



Since the airports in our database must have a four-letter ICAO code, I will have to create a code for each oil-rig platform. I have taken the list you provided and will assign a unique ICAO code with a two-letter prefix of PL (Platform) followed by a two-digit number. This will let us enter up to 99 platforms. Example: PL01, PL02, etc.

I will have to convert each latitude/longitude coordinate to the decimal (demialed) number, so it may take me a day or two to enter all the rigs on your list. I also noticed some of the rigs have radio navigational aids at the rigs, so I will include these in the description.

I will let you know when I finish and post a listing in this thread.

Yes .. I just myself learned that those Rigs existed.

It sounds like a great ide to give the rigs an uniqe Id
Just take your time.. i'm happy that it will be possible to
use the rigs at all.

I'm sure that there are alot other rigs around the world.
It's just that nobody have had use for them before, here at Airsource.

Are looking forward to be able to use the Rigs in the North/south sea.

YES the detail, especial on that ONE, is amacing. Very difficult to land
on of these suckers, but fun.

did you finish with the platforms?
Are eager to try them out , myself.

Did you stick with the PLxx format?

Oh.. yes you did.. i just let the dest be.. PL0
and then I had the choice of more then one platform.

was not sure about the scandinavian platforms..but have found the
one I need.. will try the others later.
