I would like to do charter flights off the beaten path and still get paid, but why was it removed as an option?

The freelance system was abused and/or just not understood enough by members so years ago the freelance flights were removed for good. There are 100,000+ flights available, plus bid and ASHA division flights and personal division which allows flight from any airport to any airport.

That is too bad as it would be cool to make up charter flights.

wow I did not know that was the reason for the suspension of the charter flights. Yeh before I became a member here that was one of my fav. types of flights. Charters to some tiny ports with one way in only 
Hmmm.... "There are 100,000+ flights available" and that's just ONE division... Get a dart a map and toss it. then go fly it.. and have fun The Word Boredom Should not exist at AirSource Virtual.
Try running Cargo only flights, I did that for my own challenge, to circle the earth twice doing cargo only, and not going to the same place twice.
, or join in on some of the events.
