Title: AirSource 20 Year Commemoration Event Rules
Threaded Mode
#1
Alright, now that we've got the planning done and the Crew Passes in place for the start date, it's time to get you guys some details ;-)

We thought that a fitting way to commemorate 20 years of AirSource was to honor some of the folks that helped us get to this milestone and have been inducted in to our Retired Pilot Number Archive (RPNA). With that in mind, this event will be a tour of each inductee's Home airports. Each CP will list the name of the inductee who lives there, and contain an excerpt from their nomination post. The complete tour is 31 legs, but we're going to have a tiered award system for those who aren't able to complete the entire tour. The tour route will be:-

KPDX-WA78-KGEG-KMHR-KTUS-KPUB-KOUN-KDFW-KLCH-KSTL-KATL-KPIE-KTPA-KMCO-KDTW-CZBA-KRDG-KNHK-KEWR-KJFK-EGCC-EGKK-LEBL-EHAM-OOMS-VTBS-YMML-YSRI-YSSY-NZQN-NZAA-KPDX

We don't want to burden this down with too many rules, but we have laid down a few basic ones.

1) Event runs from 1 Mar until 30 Apr 2020.

2) All CPs have a suggested aircraft, but feel free to substitute with anything you want to fly. However, please make sure it is suitable for the origin and destination airports (Our shortest runway is 1800ft long). Fuel stops to be made as determined by the pilot and noted in the PIREP.

3) Tour may be joined at any point in the route, however once joined, legs should be flown in order.

4) Tour may be joined at any date after the event has started, however flights flown after the end of the event will not count.

5) Ribbons awarded as follows:
Bronze:- 10 legs flown
Silver:- 20 legs flown
Gold:- All legs flown

Let me know if anyone has any questions or needs something cleared up.

Hope you all enjoy this event!

(Edited to adjust leg count - Thanks Jim for helping my math along ;-) )

Alan ...
Great way to celebrate 20 years! Congratulations!!
I'm assuming that the flights will have to be flown in the sequence listed.
Also I'm unable to find any of the flights in the crew pass page. What should I use as a search keyword?

They will come up as part of the 20Comm series, but won’t show as available until the event start on 3/1.

The route should be flown in that order, but you can start from any point within the route and follow the order from that point, circling back to the start. I figure by posting the route now, folks can start to position themselves to be at one of those airports on 3/1 to start the event.

Great idea!

Unless I am missing something, there are only 31 legs not 32. The first flight consumes 2 RPNAs.

Looking forward to this!!

Hi Alan,

thank you so much for the event! Amazing job as always!

Correct me if I`m wrong, but there is missmatch and CP31 and 32 are switched. Could you please check and confirm?

Cheers

Hi Mark, Yes, those are switched, they need to be flown in the "destination order". Correct Routing for that section of the tour is YSSY-NZQN-NZAA-KPDX. We had the tour set up when we realized that one of our RPNAs had moved, so there was a last minute shuffle of CPs.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Alan

Alan, do you want me to switch numeric order on 31 and 32?

That would be great if you have the power.
